The blue Tamworth Nursery sign above the open front gate, with potted stock in the yard beyond

The nursery on Phillip Street.

Behind the blue fence in West Tamworth: rows of healthy stock, tags you can read, and someone who will tell you straight whether a plant will cope where you want to put it.

Small enough that someone actually helps you.

Tamworth Nursery is a yard you can walk, not a shed you get lost in. The stock sits out in rows under the gum trees, everything is tagged, and there is always someone about who knows what each plant wants.

Read the reviews and the same three things come up again and again: the plants are healthy, the prices are fair, and the advice is worth the trip on its own. That is the whole business in one line.

What people keep mentioning.

Healthy stock

Plants that are cared for on the bench, so what you carry out is what you were looking at.

Advice you can use

Tell us the spot, the sun and the water it will get. We will point you at something that suits it.

Fair prices

Sizes and prices to suit most budgets, from tube stock up to advanced trees.

Rows of leafy trees in bags lining a path with houses in the background

Chosen for gardens out here.

West Tamworth summers are hot and dry, and the winters bite. A plant that thrives on the coast can sulk here for years. Ask us what does well in your street before you commit a whole bed to it.

How a visit usually goes.

01

Come in and look

Walk the rows, read the tags, and get a feel for the sizes. Nobody will follow you around the yard.

02

Tell us the spot

Full sun or afternoon shade, a pot or a bed, how tall you want it. That is usually all we need.

03

Take it home right

We will tell you how to plant it and what it wants for the first summer, and set you up with mulch if you need it.

04

Come back for the next bit

Most gardens get planted in stages. Bring a photo of how the last lot went and we will pick up where you left off.

Bring us a hard spot.

The dry corner, the windy fence line, the bed nothing has ever lasted in. Those are the good questions, and they are the ones we enjoy.
